Our mission is to transform kidney care across Africa.
Africa Healthcare Network (AHN) was founded in 2015 when co-founder Nikhil Pereira-Kamath took a leave of absence from Harvard Business School to establish the first private dialysis clinic in Rwanda. Patients lacked access to care, and Nikhil and his co-founder Dr. Lloyd Vincent dedicated themselves to building out high-quality dialysis services across the region.
Since then, AHN has grown to over 60 clinics across East Africa, as the largest provider of dialysis and preventative care, employing 700+ people. AHN is currently the fastest-growing healthcare services company in Africa, with plans to continue expanding, becoming the leading kidney health platform on the continent.
Our core values are the story and beliefs that guide everything we do — from the care we deliver to the way we grow as an organisation.
Every decision starts with what’s best for the patient in front of us.
We do what’s right for our patients and each other, honestly and consistently.
Our teams are rooted in the communities they serve.
We continually improve how kidney care is delivered across Africa.
We work closely together, and with our partners and communities, to expand access to care.
We hold ourselves accountable for real, measurable improvements in outcomes.
We bring dialysis to underserved communities across urban and rural Africa.
World-class clinical standards, adapted for the realities of African healthcare systems.
Tens of thousands of patients treated, with outcomes tracked and continuously improved.
Leading nephrologists and clinical staff, trained to the highest standards.
A sustainable model that lets us keep expanding access, clinic by clinic.
