Chief Medical Officer & Co-Founder
Dr Lloyd Vincent co-founded Africa Healthcare Network in 2015 with the aim of improving access to care across Sub-Saharan Africa while lowering costs and maintaining international standards of quality. He previously served as Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Clinical Director of Dialysis Services at Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospitals and its satellite centres in Bangalore, India, and earlier as Associate Professor and Head of Nephrology at St John’s Medical College, Bangalore.
In 1999 he received an International Society of Nephrology Fellowship to train in cadaver kidney transplantation at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. He earned a Master’s degree in Medical Informatics from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2001, completed a clinical nephrology fellowship at the University of Toronto in 2006, and received the Marc Goldstein Clinician of the Year Award in 2005. In 2007 he completed a renal transplant fellowship at the University of Toronto’s Multiorgan Transplant Unit and was awarded a fellowship of the American Society of Transplantation. He later completed a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration at the University of Toronto in 2009.
Dr Vincent is an accredited Canadian Healthcare Executive and has also been involved with India’s National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers as an assessor. His clinical and research interests include renal transplantation, prevention of diabetic renal disease, chronic-care disease management, healthcare quality and the use of information technology and point-of-care devices for remote medical monitoring.

Country Medical Director, AHN Kenya
Dr Yuri Oketch is a highly accomplished medical doctor with over a decade of extensive experience in leading and significantly improving healthcare operations across diverse public and private hospital settings.
Dr Yuri holds an impressive academic record, including a Master of Infectious Diseases Intelligence from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, where he graduated with par excellence. He further distinguished himself by earning another Master of Health Leadership and Management, also from UNSW, graduating with par excellence and ranking among the top 2% of graduates. His foundational education includes a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
His distinguished career began at the Ministry of Health Kenya, where he served as a Medical Officer for two years. He then transitioned to The Nairobi Hospital, Kenya, dedicating five years as a Senior Medical Officer before ascending to the role of Doctors Team Lead. During his postgraduate studies in Australia, he concurrently gained international experience working part-time with Meditech Australia for two years.
Upon his return to Kenya, Dr Yuri took on the pivotal role of Medical Director and acting Director of Hospital Operations for the LCH – Kikuyu branch at LifeCare Group of Hospitals. He subsequently joined Africa Healthcare Network (AHN), where he currently serves as the Country Medical Director for Kenya. In this overarching role, he is responsible for clinical governance and has achieved notable successes over the past two years.
Dr Yuri is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS). His commitment to safety and quality is further evidenced by his leadership roles as Chairperson of the Occupational Safety and Health Committee, and as chair of the Morbidity and Mortality Committee, Infection Prevention and Control Committee, Quality Steering Committee, and Ethics and Research Committees.
Driven by a profound passion for delivering quality and safe patient care, Dr Yuri’s ultimate desire is to leverage his extensive experience to advance the basic rights of health for all.

Deputy Country Medical Director, AHN Rwanda
Dr Etienne currently serves as Deputy Country Medical Director for Africa Healthcare Network (AHN) in Rwanda, overseeing dialysis center operations, patient care, and clinical quality across AHN’s Rwandan clinics.
He has over a decade of clinical experience in internal medicine and nephrology, with advanced training as the first ISN Detlef Schloendorff Fellow in Interventional Nephrology at Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. He previously held roles as Specialist Physician at Gihundwe Hospital, where he supervised clinical teams, coordinated training programs, and led the medical department.
At AHN, Dr Etienne has implemented CKD screening programs, delivered emergency renal care, and undertaken vascular access procedures. Dr Etienne holds a Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from the University of Rwanda and an MBBS from the National University of Rwanda.
He is an active researcher and published author on CKD management, dialysis quality metrics, and public-private partnerships in nephrology. He is also a regular invited speaker at international nephrology and internal medicine conferences, with multiple ISN travel scholarships and poster presentations. He is a member of the International Society of Nephrology, Rwanda Renal Organization, and Rwanda Medical Association.
Country Medical Director, AHN Rwanda | Consultant Physician and Nephrologist
Dr Joseph Ntarindwa is a senior Rwandan physician and nephrologist with more than four decades of clinical, academic, and health-system leadership experience. He serves as Country Medical Director for Africa Healthcare Network in Rwanda and as a consultant physician and nephrologist, supporting the management of patients with chronic kidney disease before and after dialysis and the follow-up of kidney transplant recipients.
Dr Joseph earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Makerere University in 1983 and a Master of Medicine from the University of Nairobi in 1992. He later completed a fellowship in nephrology at Johannesburg Hospital and the University of the Witwatersrand, receiving the Certificate in Nephrology of the College of Physicians of South Africa in 2008. His specialist training covered acute and chronic haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, renal transplantation, and the full spectrum of chronic kidney disease management.
He has played a foundational role in the development of renal care in Rwanda. At King Faisal Hospital, he established peritoneal and haemodialysis programmes, led the renal unit, and helped introduce kidney biopsy-based treatment. In 2010, he led the team that performed Rwanda’s first kidney transplants. He later chaired the Ministry of Health’s National Renal Care Committee, contributing to the development and implementation of the country’s renal care system, and authored Rwanda’s National Renal Health Policy and implementation strategies.
Across AHN’s Rwanda network, Dr Joseph has helped develop and supervise dialysis services in Kigali, Rubavu, Rusizi, and Rwamagana. He has also served as Head of Medicine at King Faisal Hospital and as a part-time lecturer in nephrology at the National University of Rwanda. His academic contributions include supervising postgraduate research, presenting at regional and international conferences, and sharing Rwanda’s experience in areas including kidney transplantation, chronic kidney disease, diabetic nephropathy, and tele-nephrology for acute kidney injury.
Dr Joseph’s career reflects a sustained commitment to building specialist renal capacity, expanding access to dialysis and transplant care, and strengthening the systems required to deliver high-quality kidney care in Rwanda.
